For Mother’s Day, finding the right gift – that lets her know how much she is appreciated and loved – can be a challenge. So, to help out, we’ve got some meaningful ideas sure to delight…even if she “doesn’t need a thing.”
(And if, like me, your mother is no longer with you, consider this to ease the gap: celebrate another woman in your life who has meant a lot to you.)
Arrange for a mother/daughter day at the spa.
The mani/pedi, massage and facial are awesome, and spending a relaxing day with her daughter would be the best part.
Include her granddaughter(s) to make it an extra special Girls’ Day Out.
Is she gung-ho for adventure? You could book a hot air balloon ride, sky diving, Scuba lessons…or something a little more tame, but exciting nonetheless, like a whale-watching cruise.
For any task she dreads, there’s probably a service that does just that. Treat her to a month of no errands or grocery shopping (think California Concierge!) Hire a chef to create a special meal in her own home. And she won’t have to do the dishes!
Schedule a day or evening of fun for Mom and Dad (or a friend)…a vineyard, a national park, museum, casino, the theater. Include the transportation (limo, maybe?) so she can sit back and enjoy.
Here’s my favorite Mother’s Day idea: In a card or letter, write specific things you appreciate about her or special memories you share. Good words will make her heart glad and put a spring in her step.
