Quick Tips & How-to’s for Father’s Day Barbecue Fun
Colorful tablecloths and easy centerpieces can be just the start of your décor. Don’t forget about how things shape up after dark:
Light the Night
Planters coated with glow-in-the-dark paint magically “turn on” by themselves. Smaller pots would work just as well for table-tops.
Use Rope lighting to line the patio or planter areas.
Jewel-ize the Fire Pit
Toss in rainbow crystals; each application lasts 30 minutes. A 1lb. container has 20-30 applications, and, at $14.95 for a two pack, these make party-time a pretty time.
Whether your Father’s Day barbecue includes kids…or only adult-size “kids”…these ideas will be a hit with everyone:
Kick Ball Croquet
With pool noodles, folks of any age can play together. Get directions here.
Of course, the king at any barbecue is the food itself. Help yourself to these handy hints:
If you’re struggling for fridge space, or need to cool your drinks quickly, fill tubs or buckets with layers of salt and ice, then add cold water. The salt lowers the temperature and gets drinks icy-cold in no time.
If you’re serving burgers, up the ante with a topping station. Beyond the staples of ketchup and mayo, include a whole assortment of mustards, cheeses, crumbled bacon, guacamole, jalapenos, pickles, onions, BBQ sauce and salsa.
